Dear Friends,
I’m writing with more bad news. Jean Murphy, another long-term member of Christ Church died this weekend. We’ve spoken to her family and they are planning a private service. Please keep her in your prayers.
Also, we have scheduled the memorial service for Maryetta Shriver for Monday March 29 at 2:00 p.m.
That is holy week so we also have services scheduled for:
Maundy Thursday (April 1) at 6:00 p.m.
Good Friday (April 2) at noon
The Easter Vigil (Saturday April 3) at 7:00 p.m.
Easter Sunday (April 4) at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
Finally, Jack Jenke one of our Troop 30 Eagle Scouts is asking for our outreach help this Saturday for a project he is working on. Please see below for information about how you can help.
Here’s something from Augustine’s City of God about the beauty of nature and what God plans for you…
“… there is the grand spectacle of the sea itself, as it slips on and off its many colours like robes, and now is all shades of green, now purple now sky-blue… And all these are mere consolations for us, for us unhappy, punished men: they are not the rewards of the blessed. What can these be like, then, if such things here are so many, so great, and of such quality…”
Love,
Malcolm
From Jack Jenke:
Looking for 20 people with big hearts and a couple hours to spare on Saturday March 27th. Jack Jenke, a Life Scout with our own Boy Scout Troop 30, will be holding his Eagle Project… the assembly of Caregiver kits to be used to by caregivers in Africa to care for HIV AIDS patients in Africa. The Kit Build, which takes place from 9:30 to 11:30 in the morning, will include a short presentation on the AIDS pandemic in Africa, the writing of short encouragement notes to be included in the kits, plus the assembly of the actual kits. This event will be held here at the church in the Parish Hall. Were looking for 20 volunteers, if you can come please contact Jack Jenke at 1-650-704-7905 or at jackjenke at gmail.com by March 23rd. We would love to get your help.
