Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We are overflowing with news here on this beautiful spring Earth Day. I hope that you have a chance today to thank God for what the prayerbook describes as “this fragile earth, our island home” (BCP 370). Maybe you are already out there doing something to care for the world…
Love,
Malcolm

First, we have the latest version of our newsletter, The Messenger, available online at the following address:

At noon this Sunday (April 25) we’ll be having our Earth Day hike at Rancho San Antonio. We’ll meet at the bridge at the northwestern-most parking lot (that is the one that has the largest bathrooms). Parking may be tough and you may have to put your car somewhere else, but that’s where we’ll meet. Jenny Stickeler writes that it should be 75 degrees and sunny. I think it will be a lot of fun.

Betty Picket (gramsie3387 at gmail.com) is revising the Cooks On Call List. She writes that this list is to be used when we need volunteers who can furnish a meal that is needed by a parishioner, or when we need a volunteer for an errand or trip to the doctor. It will be also occasionally be used when we need contributions of food for a social or reception.
This usually will need very few volunteers at a time.
Your help is always appreciated.

Here is news from GAIA:
It's that time of year again when we gear up for the GAIA Silent Auction and raise money for AIDS afflicted orphans in Malawi.
For those of you who want to put together a basket for our auction, here are some suggestions...it can be anything: garden stuff, BBQ set, wine, movie coupons, tickets to a sports game or show, babysitting, dinners, jewelry, use of a vacation home, boat ride, etc...
Please put something together to donate (tax deductible) and bring it into church for the auction (Sunday May 2 and 9th) by May 1st...all proceeds will go to the Global AIDS Interfaith Alliance (GAIA). This is an Outreach and Youth Group event.
Thank you,
Heidi
P.S. If you cannot put together a basket or donate an item...you can always purchase one that has been donated or write a check to GAIA directly that is earmarked for things like: a goat, school supplies, a bike, etc...come check out the event happening both Sundays(5/2-5/9) in the parish hall following the 10am service.
If you are interested in learning more please be sure to check the newsletter or the Sunday bulletin.
