Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We are so blessed to be baptizing four lovely little girls on Saturday night at the Vigil and on Easter Sunday.

At 7:00 p.m. on Saturday night we will participate together in the holiest service of the Christmas year. Angie and Rob's miraculous twins will be baptized. We'll light the new fire and give thanks for Christ's resurrection from the dead.

On Sunday morning we will be having our normal 8:00 a.m. service down in the chapel. Then at 10:00 a.m. we'll celebrate the baptism of baby Cora (our Jesus from Christmastide) and Baileigh Elizabeth (The Picket's great-grand baby and the Deritis' granddaughter). If you can, arrive 13 minutes early and you will have the chance to hear a trombone quartet from Stanford University.

The egg hunt will follow the 10:00 a.m. service.

I don't usually thank people in these notes, there are too many people to thank at Christ Church... But today I would especially like to single out the choir and the altar guild. Their example of dedication, piety, high standards in ministry is deeply inspiring to me. I really see Christ alive in this extraordinary group of saints.

Below is a short quote from Rainer Maria Rilke to take you through Good Friday and Holy Saturday…

Love,

“I imagine one can never tell whether God is in a story before one has finished it completely. For if only two words of the telling are still missing – indeed, if nothing but the pause after the last word is still outstanding, he may yet come.”
