[Parish] Parish Potluck, Evensong

Dear Friends,

It would be great if you could come to our parish potluck on Saturday  
night at 6:00 p.m. in the parish hall.  You'll have the chance to  
make new friends and to catch up with people you have known for  
years.  I think it will be a wonderful evening.

Also, on Sunday afternoon we'll be having a 4:00 p.m. Evensong with a  
combined choir from Christ Church, Portola Valley, St. Bede's Menlo  
Park and Christ Church Los Altos.  This should be a beautiful  
service.  The music looks spectacular.

I just finished a prayer service this morning that reminded me of St.  
Augustine.  He says that an act of choice is not merely a matter of  
knowing what to choose.  Loving and feeling are always involved.  He  
writes, "From a depth that we do not see, comes everything that you  
can see.  I know O Lord, that the way of a man is not in his power;  
nor is it for him to walk and direct his own steps..."

What choices are you making today?  What feelings, what experiences  
of love guide you?  How is God present in this very moment for you?

I thank God for you and your totally unique gifts to the world.
