Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We are so alive in the spirit this week! With Pentecost, the
Pentecost picnic, the Faure Requiem, Dick Millard's 70th anniversary
as a priest, another summer BBQ, a concert and luncheon on the last
day of the Ventana School year - we are making a lot of joyful
connections with each other. Thanks be to God for all these signs of
blessedness. We're seeing the fruits of our labors as we send
another class of Ventana graduates out into the world...
But wait, there's still more. On Sunday the Harvard Chamber Choir
will join us for worship at our 10:00 a.m. service and for a short
post-church concert. We are so fortunate to have this opportunity to
host them.
I wanted to remind you that Lucy Carter our Junior Warden has office
hours from 9-10:00 a.m. on Sunday morning and that I'm continuing to
have them on Tuesday afternoons from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. (you also
should feel free to call to set something up outside of that timeframe).
Finally, we have an excellent forum program by Bob Stanfield and Home
Ministry planned for Sunday. You'll find it is described below.
May God continue to bless and keep you on this gentle evening.
Love,
Malcolm
SKILLS FOR CARE GIVERS By Bob Stanfield
How to prevent injuries to yourself, as a caregiver, and how
to take care of yourself as a caregiver, as well as those whom you
are caring for now, or may need at sometime in the future, also,
resources available to aid seniors and others. If you become disabled
at sometime in the future, these skills will help you instruct others
who will be assisting you.
Some specifics?..helping a person get in and out of a car, in
and out of a wheelchair, use a walker, etc. Demonstrations of the
skills. Come join the presentation on June 7, at 9:00 am at the
morning forum, sponsored by Home Ministry.
