Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

What a stormy night we are having following the shortest day of the
year. I can barely hear the train through the sound of the blowing
trees. The spirit seems to be working very hard on something new, on
new life.

In my last email I made a mistake. The Christmas Pageant rehearsal
is really at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning (Tuesday). Sorry about
that. We will have a great time together.

Also, last Tuesday was our last yoga class of this year. We won't be
having it this week or until we set up something in January. I'll
let you know when we will begin to do this again.

Finally, if you are in town we look forward to seeing you at the
pageant (4:00 p.m. with holy communion) or at the night service
(10:00 p.m.). At both services we have musical offerings that begin
at about 25 minutes before the announced service times.

I don't know where you are or what you are struggling with tonight,
but my prayers are with you. In these last days of Advent God is
making an opening for the Christ to shine into our life. May God
bless you this Christmastide.

Below is the first stanza of a poem called "An Archival Point" by
William Stafford.

Love,

Malcolm

An Archival Point

“God snaps your picture – don’t look away –

this room right now, your face tilted

exactly as it is before you can think

or control it. Go ahead, let it betray

all the secret emergencies and still hold

that partial disguise you call your character…”
