Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

In a few days we will have so many opportunities to draw closer to
Christ and one another as we journey through the holiest season of
the year. Holy Week will begin with Palm Sunday (April 5) as we
change the service times to 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. and hear the
last of our Lenten sermons on forgiveness. Jim will be preaching
about how entire nations can seek forgiveness. I am looking forward
so much to hearing this. It will be a super conclusion to a
conversation that he started about forgiveness in a sermon last fall.

Rather than start a new forum series which will be interrupted by
Easter, we’ve decided to not have a forum this Sunday. We’ll
continue the forums at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday April 19 with a really
wonderful program on the Bible. That will also be the beginning of
our Bible challenge as we ask everyone in our church to read at least
one full book of the Bible before Pentecost. We’ll be offering
recorded versions, study guides, with Sunday and Tuesday office hours
starting on April 19. I’m looking forward to seeing how the spirit
will guide us as we get closer to God’s word.

Please be sure to attend as many of our Holy Week services as you
can. I especially recommend the Maundy Thursday supper. It was the
most powerful service that I experienced all last year.

Finally, I know that some of you have faced some very difficult
challenges this week and want to remind you that you are in my
prayers. Stay strong in the spirit – you are God’s beloved child!

Love,

Malcolm
